#广场预测世界杯赢40000U Breaking | South African midfielder Jaden Adams, only 25 years old, has died. He has just played in three group-stage matches at this World Cup.
Local time on July 11, several authoritative South African sports media outlets released a heartbreaking update: Jaden Adams, the midfielder for the South Africa national team and Mamelodi Sundowns, has tragically passed away at just 25 years old. The player’s agent and guardian have confirmed the news.
Born in 2001 in Cape Town, Adams is one of South Africa’s most anticipated homegrown young midfielders in recent years. Coming through the youth system at Stellenbosch, he made a high-profile move in 2025 to powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns, and with his steady midfield control he secured a regular starting spot.
At the national team level, he made his debut at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, helping the squad finish as runners-up and win the tournament’s third place; in the Africa qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, he scored his first-ever goal for the national team, successfully earning the team a spot at the World Cup. This World Cup is the first time in Adams’s professional career that he has stepped onto the highest stage of world football. In the three group-stage matches, he got playing time in all of them: he started against Mexico; in the second match against Czechia, he started but was substituted off at halftime—during that game, he had just been hit by the news of his grandmother’s death; in the final group match against South Korea, he came on as a substitute. It was precisely South Africa’s 1-0 victory over South Korea that marked the first time in the team’s history that they reached the World Cup knockout stage. Although the team’s run ended in the Round of 32, Adams’s midfield performances have earned widespread recognition from local fans.
