The biggest failure in the GPT-5.6 naming is that it has three models with no distinctive features, and the naming also has low differentiation.


The difference between Claude Sonnet and Opus is immediately clear from both the names and performance; Opus is intended to be stronger by a wide margin.
In contrast, OpenAI has ended up with massive confusion here.
