Elon Musk believes that superintelligence will surpass humans by 2026–2030. He is developing his own AI projects through the company xAI and the Grok bot, actively deploying autonomous robots Optimus at Tesla factories, and plans to move some energy-intensive data centers into orbit.
He also calls artificial intelligence (AI) the most destructive force in history—one that could both completely eliminate humanity’s need to work by creating an “age of abundance” and become an existential threat if it is not controlled.
