Beijing raises its flood-control emergency response to Level 1 for 10 districts; the public should take precautions.

At 15:00 on July 11, the Beijing Meteorological Service upgraded and issued a red, zoned alert for torrential rain. The Beijing Emergency Office released public protection guidelines for a red alert for torrential rain and an orange alert for torrential rain. A reporter learned from the Beijing Flood Control Office that, at present, 10 districts, including Fengtai, Fangshan, Shunyi, Pinggu, Huairou, Miyun, Mentougou, Yanqing, Daxing, and Tongzhou, have initiated the district-level flood control emergency response at the highest (level one), while the rest of the city remains under a flood control emergency response at level two. The public should take protective measures according to the alert levels issued for each district. (CCTV News)
