In the crypto market, price volatility is something very normal.

Many investors’ biggest problem is not that they can’t find good projects, but that when prices fall, they lose the original plan.

When the market rises, people tend to be overly optimistic; when the market falls, they tend to be overly pessimistic.

But truly mature investors set their strategies in advance, including what price to buy at, under what circumstances to reduce positions, and how much risk they can actually bear.

There will always be new opportunities in the market, but once capital is damaged by emotion-driven actions, it’s hard to seize opportunities again.

Controlling emotions is the most important lesson on the road to investing

You’re right—plan your trades, trade your plans. A lot of people write their strategy before opening a position, but when the chart changes its face, they forget it all. I’ve taken losses like this way too many times. Now I force myself to set a stop-loss and take-profit so I can sleep.

The market is always there, but once your principal is gone, it’s really gone. I’d rather make a little less and protect my position—after all, living long enough lets you see more opportunities. This line is for all contract traders.

Indeed, emotion is the biggest enemy.

Last year, when the market crashed, I panicked and cut my losses, and I missed the subsequent threefold rebound. Now I’ve learned to set limit orders and sleep at night—out of sight, out of mind.
