The statement mentions that in the early stage of the incident, Gate’s communication with users was not handled appropriately, and it did not put users’ feelings first in a timely manner. Gate’s initial judgment was based on highly matching materials provided by the applicant, including the account email, mobile number, real-name information, complete transaction records, and real and valid screenshots of Alipay transactions. After the incident occurred, Gate formed a dedicated task force, established a dedicated handling group with users, has completed incident reconstruction, device security analysis, and real-time tracking of the funds flow, and assisted users in reporting the case and filing for it. Gate also contacted a professional legal team, actively communicated with Tether and relevant exchanges, and sought to freeze the funds involved in the case. Gate reiterates that it will continue to optimize its processes to ensure security.
