Insiders discuss Tencent’s talks to acquire Manus: Tencent will still retain a minority shareholder position

July 11 news: Recently, there have been reports that Tencent is in talks to become the largest shareholder of general AI agent company Manus. According to the report, a group of China-based investors led by Tencent plans to repurchase all of Manus’s equity from Meta at an approximately $2 billion valuation.
Nanfang Metropolis Daily reporter contacted Tencent for verification, but Tencent has not responded. Another source familiar with the matter said that after this transaction, Tencent would still hold a minority shareholder position, but it will not have controlling control.
