According to Bije.com, Tencent is in talks to become the largest shareholder of the general AI agent company Manus. A group of China-based capital led by Tencent plans to repurchase all of Manus’s equity from Meta at an estimated valuation of about $2 billion. After the transaction, Tencent will remain a minority shareholder and will not control the company.

Meta sells Manus and I can’t quite understand—if they can’t do it themselves well, do they just clear out the position? After Chinese capital takes over, will the technical roadmap change? We’ll need to watch and see.
