An insider discusses Tencent’s acquisition talks for Manus: Tencent will still retain a minority shareholder position
BlockBeats message: On July 11, it was recently reported that Tencent is in talks to become the largest shareholder of the general AI Agent company Manus. According to the report, a group of China-based capital led by Tencent is repurchasing all of Manus’s equity from Meta at an estimated valuation of $2 billion.
A reporter from Nanfang Metropolis Daily contacted Tencent for verification, and Tencent has not responded. Another insider said that after this transaction, Tencent will still retain a minority shareholder position, but it would not be in control.
