Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company: Multiple counterfeit websites found using virtual wallets to carry out scams

Mars Finance reports that Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing) has issued an announcement disclosing that it recently discovered multiple counterfeit websites that, under the name “Buyer Online Safety Assurance,” lure users into submitting personal information such as their identity card number, identity card photos, and phone numbers for so-called “real-name verification,” offering cash rewards as an incentive, and conducting deposit and withdrawal operations via virtual wallets. Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited urges the public to beware of suspicious calls, websites, or other communications. If anyone suspects they have been deceived, they should report the case to the police as soon as possible.
