Deep Tide TechFlow message: On July 11, Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (Hong Kong Clearing) released an announcement disclosing that it has recently discovered multiple impersonation websites that, in the name of “Buyer Online Security Assurance,” lure users into submitting personal information—such as their identity card numbers, identity card photos, and phone numbers—for so-called “real-name verification.” These sites also use cash rewards as an incentive and carry out recharge and withdrawal operations through virtual wallets. Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited urges the public to beware of suspicious calls, websites, or other communications; if you suspect you have been deceived, report to the police as soon as possible.
