Analysts: The renewed clashes between the US and Iran essentially revolve around the contest over the Strait of Hormuz

Golden Finance reported that on July 11, less than a month after the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran was signed, both sides have already carried out multiple rounds of mutual attacks, with signs that the confrontation is heating up, raising concerns in the outside world about negotiations breaking down and fighting possibly reigniting. Analysts believe that the current U.S.-Iran military confrontation is, in essence, still a game over the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides trying to gain more leverage for subsequent talks, while also facing real needs to avoid a significant escalation of conflict. In the future, U.S.-Iran interactions may continue to show a pattern of “alternate fighting and talks, using attacks to promote talks.” (CCTV News)
