In interpersonal interactions, two principles are very useful—


When you are in a weaker position, you need to learn to keep quiet, don’t tell others about your hardships, and don’t publicly share your personal privacy.
When you are in a stronger position, you need to learn to pretend you can’t hear. Take other people’s complaints in one ear and let them out the other. Any “advice” will be ineffective and will only add obstacles to the relationship.
