According to a report from The Defiant, Uniswap Labs submitted a proposal on July 7 to expand protocol fees to Uniswap v4 pools. A Snapshot vote will be held from July 7 to 12, and on-chain voting is expected to start during the week of July 13. The proposal introduces the V4 Fee Controller system to manage fees for different types of pools, intending to enable fees for static fee pools, CCA auction pools, and aggregator Hooks pools. For aggregator Hooks, a capped fee rate of 250 basis points would apply; for regular chains, 10 basis points; and for Base, 3 basis points.

CCA auction pools have such a big difference in fees compared with normal chain fee rates, so market makers need to recalculate everything.

Snapshot voting starts on the 7th. Can this round of community governance pass? It feels like the big holders will keep bargaining for a while.

v4 is finally going to start charging protocol fees too—an 250 bps cap is a bit harsh.

The Base chain is only 3 bps—this differentiated pricing is pretty interesting. It looks like Uniswap also understands to price according to local conditions.
