Abstract generation in progress
Golden Finance reports that as the music industry works to address industry changes brought by AI, an alliance made up of record companies and artists’ groups is urging major streaming platforms to add labels to AI-generated music. The alliance plans to work with streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music to indicate whether AI technology was used in the music production process. At present, the use of AI is mainly self-labeled by artists, record companies, and distributors. The alliance is led by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). It proposes two different labels for AI content. One label is for identifying tracks that are fully generated by AI based on prompt text, or tracks in which the vocals or key instrument performance sections are generated by AI. The other label is for identifying “AI-assisted” tracks—works that are mainly created by humans but use AI technology in certain elements. (Jin Ten)
