Cursor releases version 3.11: adds sidebar chat and conversation search, and connects a new batch of Hooks to its cloud-based Agent

According to Beating monitoring, Cursor released the 3.11 update, adding a sidebar chat and conversation search. Users can open a separate chat that inherits the context while continuing to work in the main Agent, for follow-up questions, looking up information, or verifying ideas—without interrupting the main task. The sidebar chat is kept long-term, and content can also be brought back to the main conversation via @.

Cursor also supports searching past Agent conversations. Users can use Cmd+K to search thousands of chat records in the local index, or use Cmd+F to find within the current conversation.

Cloud Agents also added a batch of Hooks. Developers can trigger actions at nodes such as submitting prompts, model responses, thoughts, launching sub-Agents, and stopping tasks—used to monitor the running process, control sub-Agents, or build automated error-correction workflows.
