According to CriptoNoticias, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) warned that scammers are using the MiCA transition period up to the June 30 deadline to launch large-scale phishing campaigns targeting crypto asset service firms. Scammers impersonate ESMA’s name, identifiers, and institutional image to send emails demanding that companies pay so-called emergency fees to obtain MiCA licensing “fast-track approval,” or to provide internal and confidential company information. ESMA said that its official email addresses only use the @ esma.europa eu domain, and it will not request transfers, payment of additional fees, or the provision of personal information through unsolicited electronic communications.
