Iranian President Attends Farewell Ceremony for Late Supreme Leader

On July 3, according to CCTV International News, the farewell ceremony for the late Supreme Leader Khamenei was held today in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Supreme Leader advisor Mohsen Rezaei, Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were in attendance. According to the schedule previously announced by Iranian officials, following the farewell ceremony in Tehran, additional funeral ceremonies will take place in Qom, Mashhad, and the Shiite holy cities of Najaf and Karbala in Iraq. After the completion of the funeral ceremonies, the body will be buried at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad.
