Claude Code’s built-in browser allows the agent to directly read webpages, click buttons, and fill out forms

Abstract generation in progress
News from Biquanwang: Anthropic has added a built-in browser to the desktop version of Claude Code. Developers can directly open technical documentation, design mockups, issues, and other websites. Claude can read pages, click buttons, and fill out forms, and it can also operate external webpages as easily as testing a local project. When operating a particular website for the first time, Claude will ask for permission to allow once, always allow, or refuse. Even if the site has already been authorized, purchases, account registration, and handling captchas still require the user to complete them personally. The built-in browser uses separate settings and does not read login status or browsing history from the user’s personal browser. If Claude needs to use an existing account, it still requires going through the Claude in Chrome extension. Developers can now look up materials, cross-check designs, test pages, and continue coding in the same window, reducing the need to repeatedly switch between the editor and the browser.

Can the built-in browser run its own deployed internal document site? It’s a must-have for enterprise users.

Whether it will always be allowed and could it turn into an exposure risk—I'm a bit worried.

Throw the design mockups straight into the code and compare to adjust—front-end developers are going crazy with joy.

Finally, I don’t need to split the screen to look up documentation anymore, but purchasing and the captcha still require manual work; semi-automation is also pretty good.

Independent configuration that doesn’t read history is indeed more secure for privacy than directly adjusting the system browser.
