Golden Finance reported that on July 11, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said in an interview late on July 10 local time, “US default has become a habit.” Baghaei said that only 22 days have passed since the signing of the Iran–US memorandum of understanding, and that the US has continued to violate multiple provisions: on July 8 and 9, the US military again attacked Iran, openly violating Articles 1 and 2 of the memorandum; the US revoked exemptions related to oil sanctions against Iran, violating Article 10 of the memorandum; the US also announced new sanctions against Iran, violating Article 9 of the memorandum. Baghaei said that, in this 14-provision memorandum, the US side has violated multiple items under various excuses—“we don’t have to be surprised, because default has always been part of the behavioral pattern of successive US governments.” (CCTV International News)
