On July 3, it was reported that on July 2, during the main forum of the 2026 Global Digital Economy Conference, the Beijing Economic and Information Technology Bureau officially signed a joint statement with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to promote industrial development, innovation, and digital transformation in Beijing. This marks a pioneering initiative for institutionalized strategic cooperation between the two parties, filling a gap in the capital's industrial digitalization collaboration with the UN's sustainable industrial development framework. The signed joint statement establishes a long-term and stable cooperation framework, clearly focusing on core cooperation directions such as information exchange, experience sharing, industrial collaboration, capacity building, and technology transfer. It emphasizes two major core tasks: first, the establishment of a global center of excellence for smart manufacturing and robotics; second, deep participation in the Global Digital Economy Conference and empowering the construction of a global digital economy city alliance, among other initiatives.
