Golden Finance reports that analyst Alex Alfirraz Scheers said that while US–Iran negotiations may be restarted, the core issue is that there is deep, total distrust between the two sides. He said: “I think these negotiations will have little effect. To a large extent, they are almost symbolic; unless there is substantive progress in building trust and strengthening confidence, these negotiations are likely to end without results in the current circumstances.” Scheers noted that during the negotiations, the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran twice, causing extensive damage. He said: “I think Iran’s hostility toward the United States is deeply rooted, and to a large extent it is completely justified.” “Therefore, the divisions within Iran ultimately come down to this: whether the United States is trustworthy, and whether it can truly deliver on any promises it makes.” (Jin Ten)
