Coinpedia reports on Jiujiant.com that the CLARITY Act is approaching its one-year anniversary since it passed the House of Representatives, but a Senate vote is still nowhere in sight. Arkansas Congressman French Hill, in an interview with Fox Business, said that ethical controversies remain the main obstacle. CFTC Chairman Michael Selig noted that ethical issues arising from the Trump family’s crypto investments have complicated negotiations. He believes that ethics-related added provisions are “undermining the real chance to pass a bipartisan bill.” Hill praised senators from both parties and said he hopes consensus can be reached as soon as possible. He emphasized that if the CLARITY Act had been passed last summer, many concerns would have been addressed and the market would have greater transparency. Hill also mentioned that a hearing planned in New York will highlight the necessity of a market framework.

I missed the window last summer, and it’s even harder now.

No matter how many hearings are held, it’s more practical to just cast a vote.
