Six strange phenomena about the workplace:

1. People that leaders like basically have no real work, or they just accompany the leader on trips to attend meetings, or they accompany the leader to receive clients.
2. Honest people who can’t finish their work forever have new tasks. They exhaust themselves and the leader still looks down on them—promotion and raises are always out of reach.
3. People who actually get things done seem to be constantly judged as having low emotional intelligence and often offend others.
4. Those who don’t do work seem to have very high emotional intelligence, and their interpersonal relationships are great.
5. Honest, responsible people think about the company’s interests every day and consider what’s best for the company. But in reality, they get nothing except a head full of bruises.
6. Those high-emotional-intelligence employees who take advantage of the company’s resources and platform to “shave the sheep,” benefit everywhere.
