Odaily Planet Daily: Anthropic’s valuation in the secondary market has risen to $1.2 trillion, up about 550% from the same period last year.
“Anthropic is the most sought-after company in the venture capital secondary market ever,” Javier Avalos, CEO of the secondary trading platform Caplight, said; on that platform, Anthropic’s shares are being traded at a valuation of $1.2 trillion. Glenn Anderson, CEO of Rainmaker Securities, a commercial bank focused on private securities trading, also said he has seen deals at a $1.2 trillion valuation, but such transactions remain very rare because there are few sellers.
Less than three months ago, reports said Anthropic’s valuation had reached $1 trillion, first surpassing OpenAI. In recent years, OpenAI’s valuation has been far higher than Anthropic’s, but currently its valuation on the Caplight platform is $908 billion. According to Avalos, Anthropic’s $1.2 trillion valuation implies a year-over-year increase of as much as 550%. In its H-round financing announced in May, the company’s valuation was still $965 billion
