Crypto news: the web data scraping company bright data announced the establishment of a $1 million “bug bounty” to eliminate bad actors. The company is one of the largest providers of web data collection services globally, and its CEO, O. Lončhína, said it hopes to reward “white-hat hackers” who identify vulnerabilities or potential abuse within the industry. As data collected from the internet has become an important source of information for training models for AI companies, bright data and its peers have seen their business volumes surge. At the same time, law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring how some companies in this field obtain data, and whether these methods could pose risks to customers. Lončhína warned that broader enforcement actions against data collection services could hinder the development of AI.
