Tonight, AI capital rotation faces its ultimate test

SK Hynix officially listed on the U.S. stock market today.
In Wall Street’s play, are they buying AI—or are they buying Hynix?
Asian markets have already priced in this logic in advance.
KOSPI in Korea surged by more than 5% at one point; SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics led the way together.
Now the real test is up for the U.S. market.
Tonight there are only two possible scenarios.
Scenario one:
If SK Hynix rises, Micron keeps rising, and equipment stocks like AMAT, LRCX, and KLAC also move up together—
then it means the money isn’t buying any one company, but the entire AI storage capacity expansion cycle.
This also implies that the “BETA rotation” we’ve been talking about is still ongoing.
Scenario two—
If SK Hynix rallies sharply, but Micron actually weakens, and equipment stocks don’t follow—
then it indicates this is just capital rotating from Micron into Hynix, which has higher HBM share.
That’s a leadership switch, not a broad spread across the industry chain.
The difference may look small, but for how to invest in AI afterward, it’s completely two different stories.
