Japan’s Financial Minister: Plans to push for the approval of crypto ETFs in Japan

BlockBeats report: On July 10, according to Nikkei, Japanese Finance and Financial Services Minister Kogetsu Katayama said at the opening keynote of the “OpenQUICK 2026” seminar hosted by financial information service provider QUICK that, amid ongoing expansion in overseas crypto-asset ETF trading, “we hope to advance research related to the deregulation of crypto-asset ETFs in Japan.” Japan is currently working on legislation to first include cryptocurrencies in the regulatory framework of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
