Japan plans to push for the approval of crypto-asset ETFs

July 10 news: According to Nikkei, Japanese financial information services provider QUICK discussed at the “Open QUICK2026” seminar the issue of how to implement trading for crypto-asset ETFs. Japan’s Minister of Finance and Financial Services, Akiho Ishi, said that as the trading volume of overseas crypto-asset ETFs expands, Japan will also move toward research and regulatory arrangements aimed at lifting restrictions on crypto-asset ETFs. This move suggests that Japan may, for the first time, formally position crypto-asset-related ETFs within the framework of financial products.
