I used to work at a state-owned enterprise, but I didn’t have an official position.

During that period, I went to take exams everywhere. Whenever there were recruitment drives by state-owned enterprises or government agencies, I would take the exam.

I took it close to 20 times.

I never passed any of them.

Looking back now, apart from civil service exams having some degree of fairness, recruitment like this at enterprises or government agencies is basically nonsense. It’s basically been decided in advance, and they’re just going through the motions.

Especially in smaller places—everyone is acquainted. There’s no way a stranger would be brought in.
