#广场预测世界杯赢40000U Rice has been diagnosed with a viral infection and placed in separate isolation ahead of the match against Norway. England already have several injuries: defender Marc Guéyi has a hamstring strain, and Henderson suffered a broken bone after falling when climbing over an advertising board.
According to the Daily Mail, England and Norway have both been hit by illness. England defender Marc-Guéyi is dealing with a minor hamstring injury and could miss the World Cup quarterfinal against Norway.
After England beat Mexico at the Azteca Stadium, Guéyi said he had experienced muscle discomfort. At first, people hoped the problem for this defender was just muscle fatigue and that he would be able to make it for the Saturday match against Norway. But it is understood that the Manchester City center back has sustained a hamstring strain. It still remains to be seen whether Guéyi can train with the squad on Friday. If he cannot participate in training, then whether he can play against Norway will be a major doubt.
BBC Sport reports that England midfield linchpin Rice has fallen ill due to a viral infection. The Arsenal midfielder had previously been troubled by hamstring and lower-back issues, and his condition has now worsened further. FA officials have taken steps to isolate Rice from the main team to control a possible outbreak. An insider at the camp said they believe the situation is under control. Because he is sick, Rice has missed training for two straight days, during the crucial run-up period for England’s quarterfinal against Norway in Miami.
Earlier, according to Red Star News, during the post-match celebration after Jordan Henderson defeated Mexico in the Round of 16, he accidentally fell while climbing over an advertising board, resulting in a broken arm. He has been confirmed to miss the remaining matches of this World Cup. At the time, Henderson climbed over the advertising board together with his teammates in order to get closer to the England fans inside Azteca Stadium, to take part in the traditional post-match massive singalong of “Wonderwall”. Although Henderson’s injury was purely an accident, England have decided to avoid crossing any obstacles during celebrations going forward.
Head coach Tuchel said Henderson’s injury dampened the excitement of the team’s victory over Mexico. He said the team can’t afford further personnel losses. After the injury, Henderson was sent to a local hospital in Mexico, unable to return with the rest of the group to the Kansas City base, but he has stayed in contact with his teammates.
Norway itself is also facing illness issues. Goalkeeper Nyland confirmed that several players are sick and said the team doctor is “very busy.” Two Norwegian players have already missed matches due to illness. Solbakken, the head coach, was seen coughing violently during the press conference, and the celebration night after their 2-1 win over Brazil apparently did not help improve things for them either.
According to the Global Times, Norway will compete with England in Miami, United States on the 11th for a spot in the World Cup semifinals.
According to reports from multiple UK media outlets including the BBC and The Guardian on the 9th, Norway player Haaland said Norway’s chances of winning this World Cup are still “very low,” and the pressure for the next match is on the England side.
“I think there are some recognized favorites, and England are one of them.” When asked whether all the pressure is now on England, Haaland answered in the affirmative: “Yes.” He also smiled at reporters and said, “I think you guys should put the pressure on the England boys.”
When responding to whether England fans should “stay humble,” Haaland said, “I think everyone should stay humble. They have confidence in getting through, because, of course, it’s the England team.” In addition, Haaland said facing England “absolutely is a special match”: “I play in England, and I was born in England, and I’ll face the (club) teammates on the field as well… so it’s definitely going to be a great match.”
