According to Digital Asset, global payments company Stripe filed trademark applications for “OPEN STANDARD” and “OPEN USD” in South Korea on June 30, corresponding to the global stablecoin alliance Open Standard and the OUSD it issues, respectively. The trademarks cover services including a compliance framework for crypto payments, electronic transfers of digital currency among alliance members, and cross-network crypto transaction identity verification. Open Standard already has 149 partners, including Visa, Mastercard, and BlackRock, as well as 13 South Korean companies.
