This short position has finally paid off. The stubbornness at the high of $NEAR never felt right from the start.

At the time, I wasn't watching a single candle—I was looking at how the volume couldn't keep up after the bounce. The price was grinding at the top, unable to push higher and repeatedly suppressed. What I feared most in that kind of setup wasn't a lack of decline, but a sudden acceleration. I entered around 2.5382, with the core thesis being a release after the price showed resistance at the high.

Now the price has come to 1.9336, and the short position's return has reached +1690.16%. The room for price movement has cleared out quite decisively. Many were still waiting for another leg up earlier, but the moment it turned, the rhythm of those chasing longs was completely disrupted.

Here, I tend to do an 80/20 split first—lock in most of the profits, and keep a small position with a trailing stop to see if it extends further. Put simply, the most important thing in this kind of drop is not to be greedy and let the unrealized gains slip away.

If you're not in the trade yet, don't chase impulsively. The move has already played out for a bit. Don't chase; wait for the next opportunity—it's much more comfortable.
