CASHCAT & the Robinhood Chain frenzy

A trader turned $838 into $1M+ on Robinhood’s new chain, and now everyone is paying attention.

What’s going on:

Robinhood launched its Arbitrum-based L2 on July 1 to bring stocks and bonds onchain.

But the first real breakout wasn’t tokenized equities.

It was a memecoin.

CASHCAT, inspired by Robinhood’s old mascot, delivered a ~1,253x return for one early wallet.

At the same time:
• 5 wallets made ~$3.7M combined
• Thousands of late buyers became exit liquidity

This is a textbook case of survivorship bias.

Important questions:

Is this a growth hack?
Memes pulling users into a new chain faster than real-world assets ever could.

Or a distraction?
Even Vlad Tenev called memecoins a “dead end” right after launch.

Meanwhile, the numbers are real:
~193K daily active addresses
~$563M in 24h DEX volume

For context, that’s about a third of Solana’s DEX volume that day.

Takeaway:

Attention flows first. Fundamentals follow later.

But with thin liquidity and fast moves, most people don’t win these trades.

Study the pattern. Don’t chase the outcome.
