Golden Finance reported that on July 10, according to The Defiant, HSBC completed Hong Kong's first native digital structured product issuance (private placement of USD-denominated notes). The notes were issued directly on the blockchain, rather than being digitized afterwards. Marketnode acted as the tokenization agent and digital payment agent, managing payment flows between the issuer and investors.

Previously, HSBC, together with Marketnode and UOB, participated in the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Project Guardian and submitted a case study on the issuance of digitally native structured notes.
