BlackRock officially launches low-fee Nasdaq 100 ETF: I, directly challenging Q
The world's largest asset manager BlackRock has officially launched the new iShares Nasdaq 100 ETF (I), which tracks the Nasdaq-100 index and is essentially the same type of product as Q, QM, and QNDX.
The biggest selling point of I is its low fee. Currently, the management fee is only 0.10%, with a promotional period lasting until July 31, 2027, after which it will revert to 0.12%. In comparison, QM has a fee of 0.15% and Q has a fee of 0.18%.
This means BlackRock is officially entering the battle for Q's massive market share.
For long-term holders, I's low fee is somewhat attractive; but for short-term traders, large in-and-out moves, and options traders, Q still has no real rival in the short term thanks to its huge trading volume, deep liquidity, and mature options market.
