CoinWorld news: On July 9 local time, Russian President’s press secretary Peskov stated that Russia is fully aware of what actions to take after the United States plans to grant production licenses for “Patriot” air-defense system interceptors to Ukraine. The Russian government is doing its utmost to protect the country, and all necessary measures to safeguard national interests have been taken. Peskov also said that Russia has noted that the U.S. government has entered a certain misconception—believing that a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine issue can be achieved by escalating the conflict and applying military pressure. At the same time, Russia sees a certain duality in the U.S. position: while continuing to supply weapons to Ukraine, it also tries to facilitate a peace process. Russia hopes the U.S. will maintain its willingness to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict peacefully and make genuine efforts. Peskov also said that although there are still differences in their positions, channels for constructive dialogue between the presidents of Russia and the U.S. remain in place.

Regarding the Patriot permission issue, the Russian side reacted quite quickly, having taken actions to protect its interests, but verbally it still hopes that the US side truly takes the path of peace. Quite contradictory.
