Only when returning to the countryside do you realize

They say the city is full of tricks, and you always want to escape back to the countryside, but only after staying for a while do you understand—the rural roads are slippery, and people's hearts are even more complicated.

The village has poor internet signal, but gossip spreads faster than the wind.
Everyone knows everyone's business—a small matter spreads through the whole village the same day:
Whose elderly parents are left unattended, and well-meaning people keep talking about it;
Whose son is still unmarried, and gossip keeps flowing;
Whose family has made money elsewhere, and secretly everyone is envious;
Whose family is living in poverty, becoming a laughingstock for others;
Someone builds a big villa, and behind it all is suspicion and jealousy.

If you live a prosperous life, others secretly envy you and find fault with everything you do;
If you are down and out, you become the butt of everyone's jokes over tea and meals.

No matter whether your life is good or bad, it's hard to silence others' mouths—people will talk, good or bad, and it's truly frustrating.

In fact, it's not about city or countryside—wherever there are people, there are disputes.
The judgment of outsiders has nothing to do with your own life. Guard your own home well, meddle less in gossip, and take others' opinions lightly to live comfortably and freely.
