A sharp drop of 20 points, long positions deeply trapped by 9 points—hold out or not? 🤔

This morning gold played out a textbook-style move.

First a small long, then a small short—both trades profitable. The third trade entered at 4120, only to watch it dive to 4108, with an unrealized loss of -9 points.

I hesitated at the time. But I glanced at the 4-hour Bollinger Bands—the middle band was right at 4104, the daily structure remained bullish, and the sharp 20-point drop had seen no bounce. The data told me this wasn't a trend reversal, but a deep pullback.
Hold.

The result? A V-shaped recovery of 12 points, closing at 4121 for a profit. Three trades, all wins, net +8 points.

How do you handle situations like this? How many points of drawdown is your psychological limit?
