Biji Jie news: OpenAI AGI Deployment CEO Fidji Simo announced that she needs to focus on treatment due to the worsening of a chronic illness, so she will leave her full-time role and switch to a part-time adviser. Her former responsibilities will be shared by Greg Brockman, Sarah Friar, and Jason Kwon. Going forward, Fidji Simo will serve as an adviser to OpenAI and participate in the Chronicle BioAI and Coda Research projects.

Fidji’s move here is pretty clear-headed. Hard-slogging through a full-time job while dealing with a chronic illness really isn’t worth it—switching to a consultant role still lets them use up the rest of their know-how.
