Here's a little piece of knowledge to share with everyone.

If the last character of a name uses the fourth tone, your name will sound more sonorous.

For example, if someone's surname is Liu, naming them Liu Qiang or Liu Ping won't sound very resonant; but if you name them Liu Liang, Liu Shang, or Liu Yao, it will sound quite sonorous.

I learned this from a friend who studies Mandarin.

Later, I used it when naming my own child.
