BlockBeats message, July 10: Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal said that after 6 years at Coinbase, he will leave the company and switch to an advisory role at the end of this month, while continuing to serve as a member of the board of Coinbase National Trust Company.

Paul Grewal said that during his tenure, he helped drive Coinbase’s listing, fought and won the lawsuit against the U.S. SEC, drove the company’s move from Delaware to Texas, and worked to help the $GENIUS Act$ and the soon-to-be advanced $CLARITY Act$ become law.

Paul Grewal said that Molly Abraham will take over as Coinbase’s new General Counsel, responsible for the company’s legal affairs. He said that over the past 5 years, Molly has worked alongside him on Coinbase’s major legal battles and is the right leader to take over.

In addition, Ryan VanGrack will serve as Vice Chairman, responsible for coordinating with governments and partners worldwide, driving Coinbase’s key opportunities, and working to achieve favorable outcomes for customers and the industry. Faryar Shirzad will continue to lead Coinbase’s global policy team.
