According to a report from Biquan.com, a U.S. official said that diplomatic efforts are still ongoing behind the U.S.-Iran conflict to ease tensions. The official said the United States has deliberately been pausing after strikes in order to avoid escalation and leave room for diplomacy, while retaining a list of targets as leverage. Several officials said that if necessary, the U.S. had made preparations for possible strikes on Iran that night, but diplomacy is still allowed to lead the situation. It is understood that aboard the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, deployed in the Arabian Sea, the crew loaded weapons onto fighter jets that day, and the pilots also conducted drills in preparation for potential strikes. The carrier’s commanding officer told thousands of service members on board that the situation is heating up and they should maintain readiness for combat. The U.S. official said Iran’s claims about the U.S. military launching additional strikes that night are inaccurate. However, the situation is still evolving, and if necessary, U.S. forces may resume strikes.
