A Strike user stated that after receiving a Lightning Network transfer of about $5 via Wallet of Satoshi, the platform asked them to provide the sender's name, otherwise the funds might be returned, and questioned that the requirement contradicts Bitcoin's privacy philosophy. In response, Strike CEO Jack Mallers said: "Unfortunately, UK regulatory requirements force us to do this. This does not represent our values, but rather compliance with local laws in order to continue providing services in the UK."
