A heat wave in New Jersey has resulted in at least 19 deaths as temperatures soared for several days. The extreme heat, part of a larger 'heat dome' affecting the central and eastern United States, has also caused power outages for nearly a million homes and businesses. As the heat wave subsides, severe storms have moved in, further complicating recovery efforts.
