Also in the top 10: New York, Seattle, Irvine, Honolulu, Washington. California — 6 of the 10 most expensive cities. Even in San Antonio, nearly $193,000 is needed.

The main reason is high housing costs. Also important are expenses on transportation, healthcare, and childcare.
