As gold prices fell, Poland's central bank purchased 82 tonnes of gold this year

Jinshi Data July 10 - According to Poland's central bank governor Glapiński, the bank bought billions of dollars worth of gold as prices recently declined. Speaking at a press conference in Warsaw on Thursday, Glapiński said the bank has purchased 82 tonnes of gold so far this year. This means it has added another 37 tonnes since the last official data release in April, worth about $5 billion at current prices. "Taking advantage of the recent price drop, we have been continuously buying gold," Glapiński said. Poland has reported more gold purchases than any other central bank in 2025 and is expected to continue that record this year. Gold prices have fallen more than 10% since April. Glapiński reiterated the central bank's target of holding 700 tonnes of gold. He said the bank currently holds 632.4 tonnes, with 105 tonnes stored in Poland and the rest held in London and New York.
