Altman: The media-reported incident of OpenAI planning to transfer 5% of shares to the US government "is not accurate"

BlockBeats News, July 9 — OpenAI CEO Sam Altman responded to reports that the U.S. government holds shares in OPENAI, saying "there are many inaccuracies."

BlockBeats previously reported that the Financial Times reported on July 2 that OpenAI has discussed ceding 5% of its shares to the U.S. government. According to the proposed arrangement, other American AI companies would also cede a similar proportion of shares, but it is unclear whether other labs are willing to do so.
