In the next decade, provincial capitals will be divided into two types.

One is cities like Wuhan and Hefei:
Daring to bet on industries,
Solid university foundations,
Population still holding up,
They actually have cards to play.

The other is those barely hanging on by their old provincial capital status:
Weak industries,
Can't retain young people,
Houses can't sell,
Tourism and culture shouted to the sky,
But fewer and fewer things that can actually put food on the table.

Stop blindly believing in the label "provincial capital."
From now on, cities compete not on administrative rank.
It's whether they have an industrial lifeline.
Wuhan will keep pushing upward.
Hefei will keep betting on a turnaround.
Some provincial capitals?
Not just slowing down.
They've already begun to fall behind.
