Deep Tide TechFlow news, July 09 – Gate has issued an announcement regarding the recent "user asset theft incident," sharing the results of an internal comprehensive review, analysis of the incident's cause, and subsequent handling progress.

Regarding the review process and key facts, the announcement states that after a full investigation, the applicant's submitted account information — including real-name details, transaction records, and Alipay screen recording — fully matched the account. According to technical team analysis, the Alipay screen recording could only have been recorded by the customer themselves or someone with access to their Alipay account. Alipay has an extremely strict real-time risk control system; logging into Alipay on a different device forces multiple identity verifications. The customer's information was seriously leaked or their device was compromised.

Regarding Gate's platform review mechanism, the announcement states that the company's security unbinding review process strictly follows a four-layer verification procedure: "multi-channel advance notification + system risk control initial screening + manual multi-level review + time protection." It has never and will never approve any security change request based solely on a single piece of material. Gate has always regarded information security and customer data protection as the company's core management requirements. The alleged internal information leakage does not exist.

Regarding fund recovery and subsequent handling, the announcement states that Gate has prioritized this matter at the highest level since the incident occurred. It has coordinated teams including security, compliance, legal, and business to conduct on-chain analysis, asset tracking, and freezing. It continues to engage with third-party institutions such as Tether to push forward fund freezing. It will also actively cooperate with judicial authorities in investigations and data collection, and will inform the affected party of any substantive progress at the earliest opportunity.
